2014 Gram Parsons Guitar Pull Songwriting Contest
Official Rules
Safe at Home Productions Inc., in association with Jacksonville Songwriter Residency, and St. Johns Riverkeeper, is proud to present the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull Songwriting Contest.
This international, Americana-oriented songwriting contest is held in conjunction with the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival, held in Gram’s hometown of Waycross, Georgia. This year’s festival dates are Sept. 26-27, 2014.
There will be two categories:
1) Ecological and Environmental issues concerning Florida’s St. Johns River
2) Cosmic American Music representative of Gram Parsons’s legacy
The contest will open on July 8, 2014. Deadline for song entry will be midnight Sept 6, 2014.

ELIGIBILITY: Songs must be original.
JUDGING: Submissions will be judged on originality, melody, lyrics, and relevance to the criteria. Submissions will not be judged on production or performance. Professional songwriters, publishers, or other music industry professionals will judge all contest entries. All decisions by judges will be final.
FINALS: Five finalists in each category will be selected to perform at Jack Rabbits, 1528 Hendricks Ave. in Jacksonville, Florida on Sept 20, 2014.
Finalists will be expected to perform their songs live, without the aid of recorded backup.
Finalists will be allowed to play two original songs.
One winner in each category will be selected by a panel of judges. All decisions by judges will be final.
PRIZES: The winners in each category will receive $250 and one Weekend Pass to the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival Sept. 26-27, 2014 at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in Waycross, Georgia.
Winner of the Cosmic American Music category will also win a performance slot at the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival Sept. 26-27, 2014 at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in Waycross, Georgia plus one free guest pass.
Remaining finalists will receive one Weekend Pass to the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival Sept. 26-27, 2014 at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds in Waycross, Georgia.
Song submission releases Safe at Home Productions Inc., Jacksonville Songwriter Residency, and St. Johns Riverkeeper from product and all other liability and allows Safe at Home Productions Inc., Jacksonville Songwriter Residency and St. Johns Riverkeeper, the use of winners’ names, song titles, lyrics, addresses, and emails for contest promotional purposes and to provide to our sponsors, without further compensation to the winner.
